Real Talk: Valentine's Day

Charlie and I don't usually do much for Valentine's Day. We agreed years ago that we have too many holidays, birthdays and events between November and February that we don't need another holiday to spend money on. Charlie will always get me flowers, and I'll get him something small that he likes just to to show each other we're thankful for one another, but I love that we don't go "all out."

So, with that being said, I wanted to share a really laid back Valentine's day outfit to show something I would actually wear. This is exact top is no longer available, even though I JUST got it! I'm so bummed because I was so excited to share it with yall, but I'm going to keep a lookout for it to come back, so I can share it if it does. Anyways, I've linked a few super similar below, and the rest of this look. P.S. These are my new favorite sneaks...I'm dying to get more colors!

Winter Feels...On Sale!

I don't know about y'all, but a lot of the time I wait for pieces I love to go on sale because I hate paying full price, and I tend to buy pieces in multiple colors. I just can't help it! This jacket was definitely one of those pieces. I have one similar in cream, so I couldn't justify paying full price for another one. It is such a great piece that you can wear with just about any outfit, including leggings...score!

I wear this hat a TON, especially because the gray goes with everything, and, let's be real, #momlife keeps me from doing my hair as often as I should. You can find this exact hat HERE (the gray is unfortunately currently sold out, but they have some other great colors to choose from), and they have a bunch of other airport codes too! My necklace is from Rocksbox, and I have been wearing it on repeat. I have linked one similar below as well. {Use the code "healthyandchiclifexoxo" for your first month free!} You can find the rest of my outfit details linked below (including this jacket in olive AND cream)!

Twirling Into Spring

If you're like me, you wait until all of the holiday pieces go on sale to actually buy them. I don't usually have many fancy Christmas parties to attend, so I never really have a need to get super dressed up, but I usually can't help but snag a good deal.

Since the holidays had already passed by the time I wanted to wear this silver skirt (and I can't wait to wear it for my husbands birthday Friday!), I decided to throw this tank and faux leather jacket on with it! I love having fancy tanks because they are so easy to pair with pieces like this skirt. The jacket adds an edgier look to it for the colder weather. To transition it into spring, you can wear a top like this one without the jacket. I also can't wait to wear it with a basic tee tied on the side. You can play with so many colors since this skirt is silver and dress it down with sneakers or cute sandals when it warms up. A bright colored blazer would be stunning with it too. There are so many fun ways to style this piece!

I got this exact skirt from Vici Collection HERE. You can find it in emerald HERE and pink HERE. My necklace is from Rocksbox, but I have linked a similar one below. {Use the code: "healthyandchiclifexoxo" for your first month free!} I have linked the rest of my outfit details below. Have a fabulous Tuesday friends!

Snow Day Vibes

This past weekend it was SO cold in Nashville, but it was totally worth it because we got some beautiful snow to go with it! This outfit was perfect for running to the gym and then lounging with my coffee for the rest of the day on Friday. I had a blast getting these shots with my brother, despite it being freezinggg! :)

These leggings are AH-mazing from The Copper Petal (and are going fast), and I have linked them HERE. Y'all, they're only $16 and feel way more expensive than that. I have linked some similar below in case these sell out. Be sure to use the code "healthyandchiclife" for 10% off your purchase.

I have been wearing this puffer vest on repeat! It is so warm, and I love the touch of faux fur around the hood. The Lululemon top I'm wearing I have in a couple of colors of because it is so comfortable and adds a great layer for theses cooler days. All of these pieces and the rest of the details from this look are linked below. Have a great week loves!

Sippy Cup Saga

Over the last year, we have searched and searched for the perfect sippy cup that does NOT leak. As soon as we thought we found one, Ian figured out that he can turn the cup over and water/milk drips out and loves to play with it after it drips out. *Sigh* So, I think {key word, think} that we have finally found THE winner. But, first, I wanted to share with you the ones that we have tried, and liked for some amount of time, but why we ended up having to ditch it.
I loved this cup when Ian was transitioning from a bottle because the weighted straw meant he would get liquid out no matter how he held it. So, it really was a good cup for when he was learning to drink out of something other than a bottle. We only had one of these, but my complaint was that the top was pretty hard to screw on. The lid that came over the straw broke off so easily that we eventually lost it. But, it is a good training cup for sure!
SIPSTERS STAGE ONE
After we decided to forgo the first cup, this was the one we went to next. These work pretty well, but I did have issues with the top not screwing on properly, so milk would always leak out the side. I ended up giving up on these. I have used it without the handle when all of our good cups are clean and it has worked a lot better without that handle. Since I did like the price point of these, I ended up switching to the Stage 2 cups, which is next on the list!

Okay, so we LOVED these sisters for a quite a few months. They're under $8 for a 2-pack, and the straw was one of the the first things Ian mastered after a bottle, so it made it easy for him to drink out of. I never worried about throwing these in my bag because they have the lid that slides right over the straw. These were the cups that became an issue when Ian figured out he couldnt tip them over and water or milk would slowly drip out, so we were on the hunt for the next cup!
TOMMEE TIPEE COOL SIPPY
These are my ABSOLUTE favorites so far! I LOVE this cup! We haven't had any issues with leakage, the new {I'll explain} parts are easy to clean, and, of course, like most cups, dishwasher safe...winning! But, MAKE SURE you buy the ones that are the new design (you can see where it says "new" on the top right of the packaging. We got a set of the older designed ones and I HATED cleaning the part that kept it from leaking--it was so hard to get all of the milk out of it, but the new design is fabulous, and I have had zero issues with it {including NO leaks}! Target only sells these in store, but you can find them on amazon HERE.

MUNCHKIN MIRACLE
So, I  did just buy one of these the other day. We haven't tried it yet, but I had heard such great things about this style that I wanted to give it a shot. I'll report back after we've gotten a few weeks of use out of it!

What are your favorite sippy cups for your little ones? I'm hoping by the time we decide to have our second baby, we'll have the sippy cups figured out. Have a great day mommas!
