Halo Treatment Results + Review

*Disclaimer: I was gifted this treatment, but all thoughts and opinions in this post are my own.

If you've been following me for a few months, you probably know that I had a Halo Laser Treatment done the beginning of August at the Skin and Allergy Center in Spring Hill, TN. You can still watch my stories on Instagram HERE from right before the treatment, right after the treatment and a few days following as well.

The Halo Laser Treatment is a hybrid fractional laser treatment. It is used to help with fine lines, sun damage, pigment issues, as well as to bring out your skins natural glow. I have an olive skin tone and ever since I had Ian and Riley (and even before then) have struggled with melasma on my cheeks, upper lip and forehead. This was actually the first type of laser treatment or any face treatment in general that I have ever had, so I was equal parts excited and nervous to try it.

I was mainly scared of the laser if I'm being completely honest. I heard that laser treatments could be painful, and I wasn't really sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised that the procedure did not bother me at all while it was being done. Sara, the nurse that did my treatment at the Skin and Allergy Center was amazing! She talked me through the whole process before we started and made sure I was doing okay during and after the procedure as well.

They did apply a numbing gel prior to the treatment that had to sit on my face for 30 minutes before we began. That gel works like a charm (thank goodness)! The actual laser process didn't last very long at all, it was only around 15 or 20 minutes total. Following the treatment, she gave me a hydrating spray that would help with the burning sensation - lifesaver! It did feel like a horrible sunburn for about an hour after the treatment was over, and I looked like I had been baking I the sun without sunscreen for a few hours. Other than that initial burning sensation though, I had no pain at all during the rest of the healing process.

Over the next week or two, little dark spots on my face started slowly peeling off. This was the treatment pulling out the sun damage, etc. and bringing it to the surface. The only thing that I had to make sure I did during this time was to: stay out of the sun, wash my face in the morning and at night without scrubbing - just gently patting, and hydrating my face multiple times throughout the day. I have never been great about washing my face, but I stayed consistent because I wanted to get the most out of the treatment. Skincare has now become such an important part of my routine (especially after seeing my before pictures...eek)!

The treatment takes about 3 months to complete a majority of the healing process, and I was SO excited to go in and see the difference. I could tell pretty quickly that my skin looked and felt better, and the breakouts I was having on my chin before I went in were completely gone. As you can see from the before and after images below this treatment 100% works and is definitely worth the investment. My skin is so much brighter and a lot of my melasma spots have lightened and/or gone away. The sagging of my skin around my lips/bottom of my face even tightened up a bit, as well as an improvement of some of my fine lines.

The pictures below are the sun damage before and after the treatment. When I saw this image before the the treatment, I cringed about all of the sun damage in general, but even more so because of how much damage wasn't even visible on the surface yet, but was there. These pictures made me realize how important it is to wear sunscreen every.single.day. I am so thankful that my sun damage went down significantly after this treatment. But, yikes, I wish my 20 year old self could've seen this before tanning for hours on end without skin protection!

These pictures were taken almost exactly 3 months apart with the VISIA® Complexion Analysis System, and what is even better is that the treatment will continue to work through the next couple of months. They recommend doing this treatment every few years, and I absolutely will not hesitate to have it done again in the future. The only thing I will do differently the next time around is to get the treatment done in the winter months. With two toddler boys, I had a hard time staying indoors out of direct sunlight since they alwaysss want to be playing outside. :)

If you are thinking about having the treatment done and have any questions at all, don't heists to reach out to me or to the Skin and Allergy Center directly. I am so happy to help, and they really are so nice, knowledgeable and made the whole process so wonderful. And you better believe my skincare routine will no longer be taking a back seat, especially after seeing all of these pictures!

Happy Holidays my friends!

xoxo, Ash
